A cherry tree right outside our door is in full bloom and a-buzz with tons of worker bees. This tree takes my breath away every spring. Although it just started blooming last week, its petals are beginning to fall. I had to seize the moment to keep it forever. :)

Emily Porter says:
Beautiful shots!! I love catching the cherry blossoms, they are so fleeting.

Don't you just love Spring. :) Love the pics. That last one is my favorite. That would be cool on a canvas :)

The lovely and deliciously talented BethAnn Goldberg at Studio Cake recently commissioned me to do a series for her beautiful studio in Menlo Park. I couldn't wait to dive into this work which focuses on the essence of life, energy and beauty. Here are some from the first series.
BethAnn was recently featured on Martha Stewart and will soon be in a cake competition on the Food Channel. She does amazing work and you really want to book her immediately! :)

I used to live in Breckenridge, CO and even though winter was about 9 months of the year, I loved it. Having Tahoe only 3 1/2 hours away is such a treat, especially in the winter. Tahoe's peaks look so much like the ones that were outside my Colorado kitchen window and the crisp, clear air makes me feel at peace. California continues to amaze me. This, the ocean, desert and redwoods in the same state? I am so grateful. :-)

While in Colorado this summer, I attended Zack Aria's marathon workshop OneLight. We headed out to some beautiful fields in the late afternoon to play with flash on incredible models like Shannon Kaple (who just told me she is expecting a baby!!). Shannon was a dream and even crawled inside a rotten tree stump in her dress and heels for some shots. I love her--she's my kind of girl.
Engaged couples: If you are interested in some shots like this for your engagement session, I am all over it.
Fellow photographers: OneLight is worth every minute so sign up.
Shannon: You are a fox!
