The lovely Amanda & George...I swoon!! We didn't meet until their wedding day but Amanda & I went back and forth on email for about half a year, swapping ideas on venues. I had never been to Palmdale Estates, so I was excited for a new experience and had no idea what to expect...my favorite type of situation! :) [Note to future brides: choosing a photographer who hasn't photographed your venue before can actually be a plus. Fresh, creative ideas flourish.] Palmdale was the absolute perfect spot for Amanda & George and their style. I felt transported to another era--a time of big band, straight-up cocktails, sharp suits, fabulous conversation, enviable fashion and **incredible dancing**. It was a Mad Men wedding without even trying... and without the cigarettes.

Drumroll...Amanda designed these invites and they are incredible! (So much more than an invite, too; there's true storytelling inside. As Amanda would say, she's trying to bring back the art of the paragraph. One of the many things I love about her.)

Elizabeth & Eric's beautiful wedding was passionately crafted to be as sustainable and organic as possible (nearly 100%!). They sought out local, seasonal, organic flowers; an organic and fair-trade baker for their cake; and re-purposed many items found on the web. The results were gorgeous, timeless, personal and beautifully rustic. After a sweeping hike to the beach--nearly one mile--for their ceremony, we returned to the Headlands Center for the Arts --the perfect venue for the reception. Seeing Elizabeth hike through the hillside in her beautiful wedding dress was epic. There were so many visuals and tender moments that took my breath away; this wedding had soul.
Elizabeth and Eric inspired me so much that I decided to launch bee green weddings. Cheers to the lovely couple and eco weddings!

First of all, I absolutely love this idea. Secondly, the blog post itself is incredible. Encouraging sustainability at a wedding is the perfect metaphor for the enduring spirit of the love being expressed. A love that can only last as long as our troubled planet can continue to provide the abundance needed for life to flourish. This is a beautiful blend of life's most important values.

Did you know that people still get married inside the Pantheon? I cannot imagine the splendor of such an occasion because on its own, in its bare bones, the Pantheon is spectacular and such a wonder. Tucked away among the tiny streets and alleys in Rome, it was one of Chris and my favorite sites on our recent trip to Europe. Here's a photo I took of us at night. :)

Sherry & Rudy are such loves!
Sherry goes on a trip to London with her girlfriends.
Rudy takes a surprise flight to London and hits up a great florist and the best London baker of red velvet cupcakes.
Rudy rocks Sherry's world by surprising her across the pond and proposing (with her favorite flowers and cupcakes in tow.)
Love it.
